While his roots are in blues, rock and folk, his innate feel for the music transcends genre, and can be integrated into everything from hip hop to bluegrass to kids' cabaret and more. This has been accomplished both in the studio and at live performances. In addition to masterful harmonica, Bob's skills include strong percussive flute work, and soulful vocals. Bob currently performs with David Jacobs-Strain, The Melton Brothers, The Cat's Pajamas, Philadelphia Jug Band and the Manatawny Creek Ramblers. He also co- fronts the Theologicals and leads the Bob Beach Trio. Bob met DC Fitzgerald in 1967 at Indiana University of PA. Bob was just learning to play harmonica and DC was a well established folk musician. Over the next few years they developed a musical and personal friendship that spanned 5 decades. This partnership included Contraband, Madison Blue Shoes, the DC Band, Dixie Dogs and American Music culminating with the Fitzgerald and Beach duo. Between the years of 1996 and 2006 Fitzgerald & Beach produced 4 critically acclaimed albums and toured regularly. In late 2006 DC passed away. On the 10th anniversary of DC's death and the 20th anniversary of Fitzgerald & Beach's first album(Blues New and Used) Bob has put together a show remembering DC Fitzgerald. This show will include many of the songs DC was known for and lots of memories of a great and influential musician. Bob's good friend and DC admirer Jim Klingler(Philadelphia Jug Band) will help out on guitar.
